FEARS are growing over the potential negative impacts on society of Authentic Stupidity.

Authentic Stupidity is the unique ability of humans to say and do utterly moronic things both to themselves, other unfortunate species, and the planet on which they live.

Recent major advances in the ability of Authentic Stupidity to harness the power of mass communication systems and spread at a rapid and hitherto inconceivable rate have caused some of the remaining intelligent humans to fear for the future of their own species.

There are now calls for Authentic Stupidity to be heavily regulated, at an international level, so that clever humans can keep check on its growth and prevent any potential negative impacts from spreading beyond a contained area.

“There is a grave danger that without the necessary regulations being in place soon, Authentic Stupidity could get out of control,” warned one human leader.

“In recent years we have seen Authentic Stupidity proliferate throughout society and, in many cases, even wield power over us.

“Authentic Stupidity now exists everywhere we look. It lives online. It lives offline. It walks the street. It walks through the corridors of power.

“But we created this monster, so now we have to deal with it.”

The most feared negative impacts of Authentic Stupidity are loss of critical thinking, a stubborn belief in proven falsehoods, the blaming of victims instead of their abusers, systemic failures of governance, the destruction of the living world, and nuclear annihilation.

Suggestions for controlling Authentic Stupidity include more education, fewer rewards for failure, and a ban on fucking idiots fucking running everything.

“This species invented a method of travel to another world half-a-century ago but still cannot figure out a way to recycle properly,” Artificial Intelligence observed.

“They produce more than enough food to sustain their existing population yet allow many of their own to starve.

“They continue to burn toxic materials they know to be destructive while having already discovered how to harness energy through harmless means.

“They allow malevolent forces among their own number to obtain leadership roles, who then predictably abuse their power at human expense.

“They make mistake after mistake that they fail to learn from and then blame us for their stupid, braindead ways.”
